Calendar Explosion!

Been busy. The general schedule lately may include, but is not limited to:

• working as a simulated patient at UMDNJ out in Newark, NJ (yes, I'm doing the reverse commute!)


• working at a phone bank, similar to the simulated patient work, but for a boutique HR firm that has been contracted by a gigantic bank (does that count as "working for the man"?)


• helping out my friend with her floral design company (we did the James Beard Awards last night, and I realized that I am so grateful to no longer be working in the restaurant industry!)


• rehearsing for the reading of Ed's Thesis Play (which went down quite successfully last week)


• rehearsing for Macbeth Without Words, another in the Bizarre Science Fantasy Series


• casting and getting ready to rehearse Mother..., Cardium Mechanicum's first production and entry into the Brick Theater's Pretentious Festival, as well as putting in motion our next project, a radio play, and beginning work on our new-found acceptance into the Fringe Festival (details TBA!)


• and I've gotten into a pretty healthy pattern of theater reviewing-- I've been doing a show a week for the last few months! (you can read the most recent here, but family, beware. This one was pretty racy!)

and so on.

I also booked a voiceover job for HGTV that I will record tomorrow. Not sure what it's for yet, but I'll let you know so that you can tune in to hear me tell you what's up next on HGTV. (I still can't believe I get paid to talk... it's truly a dream come true... some girls dream of men on white horses, but apparently my dreams are filled with the sound of my own voice... sorry Will...)

In other news, Will and I did manage to get out of the city this weekend. We took a drive up to the Catskills and stayed at this groovy little place outside of Woodstock. It's always nice to see a sky full of stars in the middle of a hectic calendar. Hopefully the summer will be littered with more of these little jaunts, although the next few trips we'll take all involve weddings! Four between now and the end of the summer: 2 in Massachusetts, 1 in Pennsylvania and 1 in Utah. Because nobody can see fit to get hitched in New York...
