The visit with the Family has been really nice, although, true to form, I figured we'd walk and walk and WALK all over yesterday. We went from Union Square to the West Village, down the West Side River Path to TriBeCa through Chinatown, SoHo and finally stopped for lunch. The ladies had to keep going but I had to lame out for a nap. Eeesh!

Sublet Apartment: we think we found the one but are meeting more people on Sunday night, since we already went and set it up
Cancel Cell Phone, Gym Membership and Netflix: cancelling gym membership requires going to the gym... this could take a little goading...
Purge Wardrobe, Donate Clothes, Books, Misc. to Goodwill: too busy writing about it on blog
Plan Bon Voyage Brunch: done and done! I wish people were speedier in responding to evites, though...
And of course, I've added a few things on to the list: I offered to find my replacement for the L Magazine (shouldn't require much more than a few emails) and do a podcast interview for Martin Denton at nytheatre.com for the $ellout Festival at the Brick. That goes down on May 12th. I get on a plane on the morning of May 14th.
Ain't it just like me to squeeze in one last little thing!!!

20 days, 23 hours and 27 minutes
That's right. It's only that long until I leave for Rome.
Well, actually, first I'll be heading to Los Angeles for a few days. Then, on May 17, I fly out of LAX at the crack of 7am PST, land at JFK for about 3 hours and head off to Europe!
Will seems to think it might be a little crazy to do all that travelling in that one day, but I figure it's all stress-stress-stress until you check your bags. Once you're on the plane, it's just a couple of glasses of wine, perhaps a movie then some uncomfortable sleep and voila! You're in Europe!
The major thing I'm worried about (besides all the crap I have to do including subletting my apartment, about which I'm beyond worried) is that there is no way my luggage is going to make it from Newark to Denver to LAX, then LAX to JFK to Dublin to Rome without getting lost. I'll just have to be very particular about how I pack my carry-on.

Dying to Air Your Laundry? Dirty or Otherwise...
The Brick Theater is about to launch their latest summer festival, and this one is a doozy! The $ellout Festival will run June 2-July 2. They've recruited productions with little to no moral value (in sharp contrast to the Moral Values Festival last summer) and are ready to do anything (so I've heard) for fame and fortune.
One piece in particular caught my eye. In an attempt to purge my apartment of excess stuff before we leave for Italy, I've taken to eBay. I found a couple of purses I spent WAY to much on to just relinquish them to the people who sift through our trash, so I figured I'd get on the internet machine and turn those handbags into loot! In the midst of hawking my wares, I came across this.
Yep, the Youngblood company is using an eBay auction to fill their $ellout slot and literally selling their slice of the summer festival in an online auction! If you've always thought that you've got a story to tell but just didn't know how to tell it, you might want to throw your hat in the bidding ring. The winner (or the willing person of the winner's choice) will be interviewed by the playwrights collective and the fruits of those labors will be brought to life at the Brick.
The last time I checked, the bidding had reached $260. Not a bad deal to be immortalized on stage in Williamsburg, I'd say!
